Q&A with Alejandro Ensinck, Managing Director of Star Developers Group

Alejandro Ensinck is the Managing Director of Star Developers Group, a global real estate development firm with a multidisciplinary team boasting over 30 years of experience and more than 1,000,000 square feet of completed construction across Argentina, Spain, and the United States.
Originally from Rosario, Argentina, he began his real estate career during the 2001 economic crisis, exploring U.S. investment opportunities. With a background in business consulting and teaching management, he later founded Star Developers Group to focus on creating innovative, sustainable projects in Miami, Hollywood, and South Florida.
Q1: Can you share a bit about your background and what led you to establish Star Developers Group?
My love for real estate development stems from my upbringing in Rosario, Argentina, and my exposure to the international markets during frequent travels to Spain, Europe, and the United States. I began my career during a pivotal moment—the 2001 economic crisis in Argentina—which inspired me to explore real estate investment opportunities in the U.S. alongside a group of investors.
Before entering real estate full-time, I worked as a business consultant in Latin America and Argentina, helping companies enhance their profitability. I also taught Management, Business Plans, and Business Simulation at academic institutions, which deepened my understanding of strategic planning and leadership. In 2001, I took a significant step by managing my own fund, focusing on real estate investments and developments in the U.S.
The creation of Star Developers Group was a natural evolution of my career. It allowed me to merge my business expertise with my vision of creating transformative real estate projects. Today, Star Developers Group reflects my commitment to designing spaces that are not only beautiful and functional but also add value to the communities they serve.
Q2: What inspired you to create One Hollywood Residences, and how does it reflect your vision as a developer?
Hollywood has a prime location and a lot of potential for growth. With One Hollywood Residences, we wanted to offer something unique—an elegant, thoughtfully designed property that combines the best of urban and beachside living. This project reflects my vision of development: creating spaces that are accessible, stylish, and sustainable while integrating seamlessly into the community. We wanted something that is attainable for young executives and families.
Q3: Hollywood, Florida, is undergoing a $1.5 billion revitalization. In your opinion, what sets this city apart as a residential and business hub compared to Miami or other South Florida markets?
Hollywood offers a balance that’s hard to find elsewhere in South Florida. It has the amenities and opportunities of a larger city while maintaining a relaxed, community-oriented feel. Compared to Miami or Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood’s residential and business spaces are more affordable without compromising quality or convenience. It’s a place where you can enjoy everything South Florida has to offer, from beaches to culture, with a bit less congestion and lower cost of living,
Q4: How do projects like One Hollywood Residences contribute to the economic and cultural growth of the area?
By bringing a high-quality residential project to the heart of Hollywood, we’re attracting new residents who will contribute to the local economy. Projects like this also help elevate the city’s profile, encouraging further investment and business growth.
Q5: What trends or factors are driving both local and international investors to Hollywood, and how do you see this market evolving in the coming years?
Investors are drawn to Hollywood because it offers incredible value compared to nearby markets like Miami or Aventura. The location, lower development costs, and growing support for mixed-use and residential projects from city leaders make it especially appealing. We’re seeing a trend of international investors, particularly from South America and Europe, who recognize the city’s potential for long-term growth. With ongoing revitalization efforts, Hollywood is evolving into a hotspot for young families, remote workers, and businesses. I believe the next few years will bring even more interest to the area.
Q6: Looking ahead, what’s next for Star Developers Group? Are there other projects or initiatives you’re particularly excited about?
We’re always looking for opportunities to create projects that combine innovation and impact. Right now, I’m particularly excited about exploring new locations that mirror Hollywood’s potential for growth and revitalization. We’re also focused on incorporating more sustainable practices into our developments to ensure we’re building for the future.
